The sun may be one of the best things about living in Southern California, but not when it comes to skin. I tend to be skeptical of beauty treatments and I’m not one of those people who likes to fuss with her appearance, but I was getting a little concerned about sun damage. So one day when I had a little free time, I wandered in on a whim to Marciena’s and tried a wonderful Marciena facial with Lumiere light therapy. The procedure made a subtle but visible difference. My skin looked healthier, and, strange as it may sound, the few minutes I spent under the light left me feeling deeply rested, as if I’d spent an hour napping or meditating. After a couple of follow-up sessions, which were much briefer, the fine lines around my eyes and mouth are gone, my skin tone is clear and even and the skin around my jawline is noticeably firmer. Even my children are telling me how well rested I suddenly look.

But this one spa called Marciena Spa in Laguna Beach offers the talents of the best massage therapist either one of us has ever experienced. This massage therapist is a young lady, beautiful inside and out. Therapists that are gifted with healing hands yet are simultaneously gentle and strong. Having a lovely attitude which always makes the massage experience relaxing and pleasant. The scented aromatherapy oils used in the massage and the soft music playing in the background serve to enhance the therapeutic experience. Following the massage with a glass of water with the delightful essence of fresh lemon and cucumber.

In this world bombarded with stimulation, it's wonderful to finally have found a place where we are treated to the importance of the very basic human need of human contact taken to a level of trust in the hands of professional therapists at Marciena's - therapists who are in their field because it is their passion!

I first visited Yvonne Marciena Spa because I had received a gift certificate from a friend. I’m so glad I found Yvonne. I was intrigued by the “Lymphatic Drainage.” I was bothered by chronic, puffy “bags” under my eyes. It was the thing that consistently stood out when I looked in the mirror. I was somewhat skeptical, but decided to try the treatment. What a pleasant surprise. I could see the difference after the first treatment. I’m about halfway through the suggested number of treatments, and if I saw no further result, I’d be very satisfied. The procedure is completely comfortable and relaxing.
